The aspiration to stand on the high competitive aviation market of Ukraine demanded from all workers of airline of constant search of new directions, development of new types of aircrafts, expansion of geography of flights.
"Ukrainian - Mediterranean Airlines" has left the end of June, 2003 on a new stage of the development, having started operation of a modern airplane - A-320 manufactures "Airbus Industry" (France).
A-320 is a leader of popular family equipped with an electroremote control system tightly fuselage airplanes "Airbus". This family, with range of capacity 100 up to 200 places, includes airliners A-318, A-319, A-320 and A-321. These exclusively unified airplanes possess identical cross section of fuselage and are very economic in operation. Airplanes of family A-320 are designed to give optimum comfort for passengers and maximum profitability in operation for carriers. They form family of the airplanes of the class most profitable and using most a great demand and constantly take the first lines in the independent interrogations spent among airlines and passengers.
"Ukrainian - Mediterranean Airlines" steel the first Ukrainian airline which has received the airworthiness certificate for A-320 aircraft.
On this type of airplane we offer passengers cabin in layout only 168 economy class seats or 16 business class seats and 144 economy class seats.
For this period inside airline preparation for the exploitation of new "Airbus" was preparing: pilots, cabin attendants, the engineering personnel were retrained and trained, the material base prepared. Today A-320 every day executes some flights, connecting capital of Ukraine with the big industrial and tourist centers. The magnificent design of internal cabin of our airplane, effective lighting of the cabin, extraordinary convenient ergonomic and convertible seats give flight the refined French charm. The capability of viewing various a body and video of programs on established along all cabin of the airplane monitors, in a combination to the refined galley to variety of cooling and alcoholic drinks is logic completion of extraordinary comfort which is offered the passengers by airline "Ukrainian - Mediterranean airlines".
Well-known there is no limit to perfection. By it is guided managers of airline, improving already achieved. Today in our aircraft fleet one A-320. "UM Air" plans to expand the park of aircrafts in this connection the company is going to get one more of airplanes such as A-320.

DC-9
"Ukrainian - Mediterranean airlines" for the first time have presented the mass domestic passenger airplane DC-9 of manufacture "McDonnel Douglas" (Boeing, USA). The modern comfortable airliner executes regular and charter flights of airline. The original design idea which will consist in accommodation of aircraft engines in a tail part, has permitted considerably to reduce a noise level in a passenger cabin. It adds especially sensations of comfort and cosiness in flight.
On this type of airplane we offer passengers cabin in layout only 123 economy class seats or 14 business class seats and 105 economy class seats. Today in our aircraft fleet four DC-9.
Engines on DC-9 answer the European standards of noise, the navigational and flight equipment answers the world standards of operation of aircrafts that allows us to execute flights to any country of Europe on this type of the airplane. Introduction in operation of airplane DC-9 was preceded with preparation stage of all departments of airline, including flight and technical service, departments of service and marketing. For creation of conditions of safe operation DC-9 our airline actively cooperates with a known European carrier "Finnair" (Finland) wich have has long-term maintenance experience of the given type of airplanes. The flight and technical structure of "UM Air" has training theoretical and training preparation on a material resources of airline "Finnair" in Helsinki.
The airplane shown to the Ukrainian passengers is logic continuation of "UM Air" strategy which will consist in simultaneous operation of two types of aircrafts - big (160-180) and average (100-120) number of passenger seats. Such strategy enables to maintain more effectively own park of airplanes, operatively executing their replacement depending on quantity of passengers, saving a high level of comfort.
Steady increase of passenger traffic capacities, expansion of geography of flights demands operative improvement of strategy of development of our airline.
